What is ITF Taekwon-Do?

Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art founded by General Choi Hong Hi.Taekwon-Do literally means "foot, hand, art." ITF Taekwon-Do unlike it's olympic counterpart, WTF Taekwon-Do, utilizes sine-wave in their patterns. Sine-wave it a slight up and down motion used to create maximum power. ITF style Taekwon-Do is also known to use more hand techniques in sparring than it's counterpart and is also perceived as the traditional or "true" Taekwon-Do.

What are the benefits of Taekwon-Do?

It has been scientifically proven that physical exercise leads to a happier and healthier life. Taekwon-Do is also a great stress reliever and helps students focus and set goals. Taekwon-do teaches discipline, self control, and perseverance. It helps build confidence in yourself and in your life.

Who can do Taekwon-Do?

Anyone! Age and physical aptitude do not matter. Each student starts at their own pace, sets their own goals, and meets them in a way that makes sense. We are real people with families, jobs, and aches and pains! Our instructors are trained to be sensitive to the various needs of our students and to help them strive to reach their personal best.

What if I used to train at another school?

There are many factors that contribute to your transfer to our school. Depending on your previous training we will place you at the appropriate rank in our school. Note that coming from another school or martial art may cause you to be held at your current rank for a considerably longer amount of time until you fufill all testing requirements.

Can I take a trial class?

We offer 2 free introductory lessons prior to enrollment. The first class is one-on-one with one of our instructors and the second is active participation in our ongoing beginners class. If you would like to take a trial class, stop by, or Email us to get started.

How much does tuition cost?

There are multiple tuition plans available, determined by monthly, 6 month, or 1 year commitments. Our classes are reasonably priced so that anyone can train and there are no set-up or start-up fees. We don't put our tuition costs online because we only want serious inquiries and discourage "shopping around" solely based on price. We do not use in-your-face tactics and will not pressure you in any way to sign up. We encourage you to stop by during our class times to experience what we are about.
